Initially sponsored by the U.G.C and started in 1997-98 in B.C.M, this course is currently under the self-financing scheme and is an approved degree course of M.G University. Career Options: The options in careers extend to the role of administrators and officers in the food processing industries, in hotels and community canning centres. The opportunities lie wide as consultants of catering institutions, instructors in primary health centres, Anganawadi training centres and in nutrition programmes. They can crown the roles of nutrition experts, supervisors, quality controllers and food inspectors in various food industries and research institutions. This course will uplift the competence of the students and equip them to be working professionals and specialists in food industry and related areas. It enables higher education in M.Sc. Food Tech (+2 Maths), M.Sc. Applied Nutrition and Catering Tech, Food Science and Nutrition & General Microbiology.
