The Mathematics Department came into existence along with the establishment of the college in 1955. B.Sc Mathematics was started only in 1958. In 1984, the college got the sanction to begin the post graduate programme in Mathematics from M.G. University. All throughout the past years the department has been functioning enthusiastically in an effective, sincere and disciplined manner. There is an association as part of the department which gives the students opportunities to develop their abilities through various activities. Seminars and quiz contests are conducted on a weekly basis to raise the level of competence of the students. Apart from this, to inspire the students and the staff, the association organizes seminars and lectures by eminent Mathematicians and educationalists from other universities and institutions.
