         The Physics Department started functioning in 1957 with a batch of 32 students.     During the past five decades, the department has strived to maintain a high standard of teaching excellence. With the ardent support of the students and their parents, the department has been able to maintain elevated academic standards and has the credit of exceptional performance by its students in the University Exams. Hundreds of ex- students from the department hold responsible positions in varied walks of life.

       The department has a well maintained laboratory with most of the modern equipments required for the undergraduate level. Apart from this, the department has an association which functions with the idea that education should make it feasible for a person to achieve an all-round and integrated development of personality. The association aims to make education a prolonged process which goes beyond imparting to head or heart- it believes that education should be a prolonged process imparting to the trio- head, heart and hand.
